Mustonen trionfa al LEINSTER Open
È il finlandese Henrik Mustonen ad aggiudicarsi il LEINSTER PSA Open 2010 battendo in finale al quinto game l'inglese Shaun Le Roux dopo oltre un'ora di partita. Parziali tiratissimi nei primi tre game con l'inglese che si porta sul 2-1 ma poi cede allo strapotere fisico di Mustonen che chiude gli ultimi due game lasciando a Le Roux solo una manciata di punti.

Davide sconfitto in semifinale dal finlandese Mustonen
Esce sconfitto in semifinale il pluricampione italiano Davide Bianchetti al LEINSTER PSA Open 2010, battuto per 3-0 in 58 minuti dal finlandese Henrik Mustonen. Partita condotta intelligentemente dal talento bresciano che, come racconta nel suo report Dan Zilic, inviato di SquashSite, ha fatto macinare chilometri di campo al finlandese ma non è riuscito ad avere la freschezza necessaria per chiudere il punto nei momenti cruciali del match. Il campione italiano, dopo un primo game perso 13-11 in 25 minuti, cede al finlandese con i parziali di 11-6, 11-9.

"Ciao a tutti,
oggi ho perso 3 0 contro il n.2 finlandese Henrik Mustonen (13 11, 11 5, 11 9). La cosa che mi lascia più perplesso è che mi sembra anche di aver giocato abbastanza bene e questo non è un bel segnale.. Sono stato preciso sia davanti che dietro, variando bene i colpi e facendolo correre molto di più di me. Anche fisicamente mi sentivo meglio rispetto alle ultime partite, ma il problema è che lui ha preso tutto, davvero tutto.. ha recuperato palle davvero difficili e non ha mai perso lucidità, come invece speravo, ma anzi ha fatto pochissimi errori. E' sicuramente la miglior partita che gli ho visto fare, solido e preciso. Sono molto dispiaciuto perchè comunque stavo giocando meglio e credo che domani avrei avuto ottime possibilità di vincere il torneo. Di positivo c'è che mi sembra che le cose vadano un pò meglio e appena torno in Italia lunedì vorrei continuare su questa strada in preparazione del mese di Novembre che sarà molto impegnativo con tanti tornei e leghe. Speriamo bene.. ciao e ci sentiamo presto.."

Mustonen outruns Bianchetti - di Dan Zilic (SquashSite)
"Anyway, I was looking forward to today's semis, especially between Bianchetti and Mustonen. Bianchetti, as the number one seed, would be the favourite of course going into the match, but in my opinion Bianchetti's excellent distribution would make for an interesting match against Mustonen's astounding court coverage.
Play between the two began at 5pm on center court. It slowly filled up with on-lookers, especially fellow Squash players participating in the Leinster Open Irish Grand Prix event - which itself has some formidable players (I can say this since I decided not to play this time round ;). Arthur Gaskin and Derek Ryan are top seed in the men's event and are facing the Niall Rooney and the entertaining Graeme Stewart in the semis, while in the women's event Tanya Owens is playing Scotland's Senga MacFie in the finals.
Participants from the squash tournament would have done well to come and watch Davide Bianchetti on court, since he was, at times, giving a master class in clever squash. Mustonen is incredibly fast and Bianchetti tried to contain him with tight lengths and drops. The brilliant thing about his game though is how he virtually plays a hold on every shot leaving Mustonen on his toes at all time.
This resulted in Mustonen doing the bulk of the running, but unfortunately for Bianchetti Mustonen seemed to thrive on this and kept annoying the Italian with some brilliantly played boasts that left Bianchetti flat-footed. After a slow start from Bianchetti things got really interesting and the first game took over 25 minutes, ending in Mustonen winning it 13:11 in the first.
At that time Bianchetti was lecturing the referee after some controversial calls, but both players were at the end of these. After the energy-sapping first game we were interested to see how Mustonen would fair in the second game and while he did appear to make a few more errors than before, Bianchetti, currently #43 in the world, was keeping him in the game with some cheap errors. And these proved costly since Mustonen just kept on retrieving relentlessly and won game two 11:6.
Bianchetti seemed dispirited after that and his arguments with the referee did not help his cause. The third game continued like the second and Mustonen found himself 10:6 up when Bianchetti staged a mini comeback to 9:10. After three let balls though Mustonen wrapped things up to score what must have been one of his biggest upsets yet.
I thoroughly enjoyed this match and despite losing three love, Bianchetti was so impressive in his Squash intelligence. The one thing though which he really lacked was a killer instict. He moved Mustonen around brilliantly but he lacked the finishing shot today. While many other opponents would have flattered after the physical toll of the first game, Mustonen showed no real signs of fatigue and kept going, and more importantly, finished the rallies off when he had the chance."

Davide Bianchetti batte Andrea Torricini e conquista un posto in semifinale!
Conquista un posto in semifinale al LEINSTER Open a Dublino il bresciano Davide Bianchetti a discapito del connazionale fiorentino Andrea Torricini. Vittoria per 3-0 di Davide che affronterà ora il solido finlandese Henrik Mustonen per conquistare un posto in finale. Buona prova comunque anche per Andrea Torricini che ricordiamo aveva battuto al primo turno il più quotato giocatore di casa Arthur Gaskin 13-11 al 5° game.

Davide Bianchetti e Andrea Torricini avanzano nei Quarti di finale a Dublino Sia il n.1 italiano Davide Bianchetti che Andrea Torricini hanno superato il 1° Turno del LEINSTER PSA Open, torneo satellite da 6.000 $ in svolgimento a Dublino. Il 33enne bresciano Davide Bianchetti, testa di serie n.1 del tabellone, ha battuto agevolmente lo svizzero Reiko Peter, mentre il fiorentino Andrea Torricini autore di un'ottima prestazione, è riuscito ad imporsi al tie break del 5° game contro il favorito giocatore irlandese Arthur Gaskin.

Ottimo... speriamo in una bella partita e che vinca il migliore. Tower è in formissima e sta giocando bene, la prova provata che si può sempre migliorare con il lavoro e l'impegno.
